Accounting Specialist
This is primarily an in-office position based in Santa Barbara, California. Hybrid schedule may be considered after training.
A/P & Vendor Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable (AP) transactions and vendor setup
- 3-way match of packing slips, invoices, and purchase orders
- Coordinate invoice approvals in accordance with company procedures
- Support purchasing by completing vendor credit applications
- Interact with vendors and resolve discrepancies/issues
- Request/review vendor Form W-9s
- Assist with monthly sales and use tax reporting
- Assist in year-end Form 1099 processing
Payroll & HR Responsibilities:
- Process biweekly payroll in coordination with the company’s external payroll provider
- Provide administrative HR support including onboarding documentation, employee records maintenance, and coordination with benefits/payroll providers
General Accounting Responsibilities:
- Reconcile general ledger accounts
- Enter transactions for company credit cards
- Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures
- Provide occasional support for customer billing and invoicing
- Prepare reports and maintain spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Support employee expense reimbursements
- Support external audits and financial reviews
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Provide ad hoc reporting, financial analysis, and other accounting projects
- Reports to the Controller
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with QuickBooks Online and integrated inventory/manufacturing systems preferred
- Strong understanding of AP/AR processes and general accounting principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- High attention to detail, excellent communication, and strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with a MRP system a plus
- US work authorization (required)

Hours/Pay
Full time position, flexible scheduling available. Hourly pay, rate commensurate with experience.
